Canvas Cover for 8 L Tatar and Asian-Style Cauldron

This canvas cover is intended for storing and carrying a Tatar or Asian-style cauldron with a nominal capacity of 8 L. Its soft, rounded body surrounds the cookware and separates it from other items in a vehicle boot, storage area or outdoor cooking kit. The enclosure reduces contact between the cauldron’s outer surface and dust, dirt or neighbouring equipment. After use, it also gives this bulky piece of cookware a dedicated place instead of leaving it loose among other accessories.

Shape and construction

The body is sewn from canvas and has no rigid frame. Its flexible construction follows the broad outline of a compatible cauldron and can be folded into a smaller form when empty. A zip runs around the outer edge: the wide opening makes it easier to place rounded cookware inside, while the closed fastener retains it during handling. Two long webbing handles are provided for carrying. They pass around the body and meet above it, allowing the cover to be lifted while both handles are held together.

Fit and handling

When empty, the soft cover can be folded together with its handles, so it needs less storage space than a rigid case. Open the zip fully before inserting the cauldron; the broad edge of the cookware then does not have to be pushed through a partly closed fastening.

Shape compatibility

The 8 L designation refers to the nominal capacity of the cauldron, not to the cover’s volume as a general-purpose bag. Capacity is only one part of the fit: diameter, height, bottom shape, lid profile and projecting handles can differ between cookware ranges. A compatible cauldron sits inside without an obvious tilt, and the zip meets around the complete edge without excessive tension. This version is shaped for Tatar and Asian-style cookware; a stockpot or camping pot with the same stated capacity will not necessarily fit.

Use and care

Allow the cauldron to cool and remove ash, grease, crumbs and attached dirt from its exterior before placing it in the cover. Moisture and food residue should not remain for long inside the closed fabric body. After cleaning, let the cover dry completely. Sharp skewers, spatulas and separate heavy parts are better carried elsewhere so that they do not place concentrated pressure on the fabric or fastener. Align the cauldron before closing the zip, move the slider without pulling it forcefully and use both handles when carrying. Because the body is flexible, it is not a rigid transport case and should not have heavy equipment stacked on top of it.
