Wooden Pan Trivet, 4 mm
Description
A pan removed from a barbecue or campfire needs a prepared resting place before the meal is served. This wooden trivet is intended for a disc-harrow pan and other hot cookware. It is a separate tabletop accessory that receives the cookware after cooking and provides a defined base, avoiding the need to improvise with unrelated objects around the serving area.
A square lattice made from wooden plates
The trivet consists of intersecting flat elements with a thickness of 4 mm. Longitudinal and crosswise plates form a square grid with open cells and several lines of contact beneath the cookware. This geometry makes it easier to centre a pan and check which parts of its base are supported. The product is made in Ukraine.
- Material: wood.
- Plate thickness: 4 mm.
- Shape: square.
- Construction: a lattice of intersecting elements.
- Package contents: one pan trivet.
- Purpose: tabletop placement of a disc-harrow pan or other hot cookware after it has been removed from the heat source.
Checking the cookware fit
Selection should account for the shape of the cookware’s supporting base, not only its overall diameter. The bottom needs to contact several sections of the lattice at the same time, with the cookware’s centre of gravity positioned over the central area of the trivet. Begin with an empty, cool pan and check that it neither rocks nor shifts under the weight of its handles. Repeat this check separately for every cauldron, pot, or other vessel that will be used with the accessory.
Place the grid on a level, firm, motionless surface. Leave sufficient space around it for pan handles, serving utensils, and access to the food. This trivet is not a cooking support: the wooden structure must not be placed in flames, on hot coals, over a burner, or inside a barbecue. Completely remove the cookware from the heat source before serving and clear any smouldering particles from the outside of its base. Do not carry or slide a filled hot pan together with the wooden trivet.
Caring for the wooden structure
Allow the trivet to cool fully after use and remove dry residue with a soft cloth. When necessary, wipe the plates with a slightly damp cloth without leaving the wood in water for an extended period. Let the entire lattice dry before storage and inspect the points where its elements intersect. Keep it dry and away from open flames or surfaces that remain continuously heated.
The trivet suits shared serving at home, at a country house, or in an organised picnic area. Choose a level position and test the fit of the intended cookware before cooking begins. The finished pan can then be moved to its prepared base without rearranging objects around the dish at the moment of serving.
