Lux Automatic Charcoal Grill for 8 Skewers with Stainless Steel Lid
Description
Charcoal cooking without constant hand-turning
The Lux automatic grill holds eight skewers at the same time. Its drive turns the skewers during cooking, removing the need to rotate every piece by hand throughout the session. This arrangement is particularly useful for a family meal or a gathering with friends: the cook can manage the charcoal, prepare another batch and set the table without spending the entire occasion manually turning skewers.
This model is designed for charcoal cooking and is fitted with a 1.5 mm stainless steel lid. Closing the lid limits heat loss above the firebox and helps expose the food to heat from more than one direction. Cooking results still depend on the amount and placement of charcoal, the size of the food pieces and the cooking time, so doneness should be checked according to the chosen recipe rather than left unattended.
A substantial setup for an outdoor cooking area
The grill measures 63 × 36 × 62 cm and weighs 20 kg. Its firebox is made from 3 mm steel. These figures are worth considering when planning the cooking area: this is a more substantial unit than a lightweight folding brazier and is suited to regular use in a garden, at a country house or in a dedicated outdoor space. The structure can be disassembled for transport, although its weight and dimensions should be compared with the available vehicle and storage space before a trip.
- Capacity for 8 skewers. A full batch for several diners can be prepared in one session while each skewer remains individually accessible.
- Automatic rotation. The drive changes the side facing the heat continuously, reducing repetitive manual work and avoiding prolonged heating from only one direction.
- Stainless steel lid. It forms an enclosed space above the firebox and has a wooden handle for opening and closing.
- Two 26 × 34 cm side shelves. They provide convenient temporary space for prepared ingredients, utensils or cookware kept clear of the hottest area.
- Lower shelf and wheels. The lower level provides a separate place for dry fuel, while the wheels make it easier to reposition the cooled grill across a firm, level surface.
Preparing the grill for cooking
Place the unit outdoors on a level, non-combustible base with clear space around it. Before lighting the charcoal, confirm that the frame is stable, the lid moves freely and every skewer sits correctly in the drive locations. The grill can be used with ordinary skewers fitted with either metal or wooden handles. To keep the rotation unobstructed, avoid overloading the skewers and arrange the pieces so that they do not contact neighbouring food or the walls of the firebox.
The rotating system can be powered by a portable Power Bank, so a mains socket is not required beside the cooking area. Keep the cable and power source away from charcoal, direct heat and hot metal. After switching on the mechanism, check that all eight positions rotate freely. The lid can then be closed when appropriate for the recipe, with periodic checks on both the charcoal and the food.
Care after the meal
Allow the metal to cool completely and remove the ash before cleaning. The stainless steel lid can be cleaned separately; avoid harsh tools that could leave deep scratches on its surface. Clear food residue and dry debris from the firebox and drive area, then check the moving points before the next use. Store the grill in a dry, sheltered place when practical. A simple cleaning routine helps preserve unobstructed skewer movement, keeps the wooden shelves neat and leaves the cooking station ready for the next outdoor meal.
