Description

The Premium aluminium cauldron is designed for preparing pilaf, soups, porridge, stewed meat and vegetables over an open fire. Its roomy body accommodates one substantial dish for a family or group without splitting the ingredients between several vessels. The cauldron includes a lid and a movable bail handle, making it suitable for an outdoor cooking area and for suspension above the heat source.

Construction and exact specifications

The aluminium body responds quickly when the fire changes, allowing the cooking temperature to be adjusted by gradually increasing or reducing the heat. The lid covers the contents during boiling and stewing, while the bail provides the suspension point. Oven gloves or suitable hand protection are necessary around hot cookware because the body, lid and metal bail become hot. Carry the cauldron by the bail only when the vessel is empty and completely cool.

  • Capacity — 10 L. Keep the working quantity below the rim, particularly with boiling liquids and grains that expand during cooking.
  • Diameter — 320 mm. Use this measurement when selecting a support, ring or tripod.
  • Height — 230 mm. The deep body provides room for boiling, stewing and stirring ingredients freely.
  • Wall and base thickness — 3 mm. The matching figure allows direct comparison with the construction of other cauldrons.
  • Weight — 2.309 kg. The additional weight of water and ingredients must be considered when setting up the vessel.

Preparing the cooking area

Position the empty cauldron level and securely before filling it. A tripod, suspension system or other support must suit the body diameter and carry the fully loaded vessel. Arrange the bail so that the cauldron remains stable above the heat. Increase the fire gradually and do not leave the empty aluminium vessel over an intense flame. Use hand protection when lifting the lid and direct escaping steam away from the body.

Wooden or silicone utensils are appropriate for stirring because they are less likely to scratch the aluminium surface than metal tools. Leave headroom when making soup, and allow for the expansion of rice and other grains. This makes stirring easier and reduces the chance of the contents rising over the rim.

Caring for the aluminium surface

  • Before initial use, wash the cauldron with warm water and a mild cleaning product, then dry it thoroughly.
  • After cooking, let the vessel cool completely before removing food residue with a soft sponge.
  • Avoid metal brushes, rigid scrapers and harsh abrasive cleaning compounds.
  • Wipe the body and lid dry after washing before putting them away.
  • Keep the clean cookware in a dry, ventilated storage area with no residual moisture inside.

Prepare a stable support, hand protection and suitable utensils before lighting the fire. With the cooking area arranged in advance, attention can remain on adding the ingredients in sequence and controlling the heat throughout the process.
