Automatic rotation for 10 skewers

The Step grill keeps the skewers turning continuously above the charcoal, removing the need to rotate each one by hand in sequence. Its drive uses 2 geared motors and runs from a rechargeable battery with USB charging. The battery and 10 skewers are supplied with the grill, so the rotating system is intended to work as one set. The mechanism controls rotation only: the cook remains responsible for the amount of fuel, the distribution of the coals and checking when the food is ready.

The firebox measures 71×35×18 cm. Its length corresponds to the ten-skewer configuration, while the width and depth define the working space for fuel and food. Before cooking, arrange the pieces so that adjacent skewers and the food loaded on them cannot touch during a complete turn.

Steel construction with a lid

The body is made from 3 mm steel and finished with a heat-resistant coating. The assembled grill is 73 cm high. Its knock-down construction allows the main sections to be separated for moving or storage, while the dedicated support frame raises the firebox above the ground. Place the frame level on a stable, non-combustible surface and allow enough clearance for the projecting side sections and the full opening path of the lid.

The metal lid has a top handle and an integrated thermometer. With the lid closed, the gauge helps monitor the temperature inside the firebox, although it does not replace checking the food itself for doneness. Grated tables on both sides provide space for cookware, tools and prepared ingredients. A lower grated shelf sits between the legs, keeping utensils away from the rim of the firebox.

Preparing the mechanism

• Assemble the base: check the frame joints and the fitting of the firebox, side tables and lower shelf. The structure should not rock under its normal working load.
• Test the drive: connect the charged battery and run the mechanism before applying strong heat. The skewers should rotate freely without touching the walls or lid.
• Load the skewers: distribute the food as evenly as practical. Stop the drive before correcting any imbalance or changing a skewer’s position.

Cooking and care

The firebox can use charcoal or firewood. The mechanism does not regulate heat output, so adjust the amount and distribution of the coals or burning wood during cooking. After starting the drive, observe several complete rotations to confirm that every loaded skewer moves without obstruction. Keep hands, clothing and loose objects away from the exposed gears.

After use, wait until the body, lid and remaining fuel are completely cool, disconnect the battery and remove the ash. Clean food residue from the tables, shelf and skewers separately. Do not soak the geared motors, battery or USB connector with water. Dry the metal parts before storage, check that the transmission moves freely and keep the grill in a dry, sheltered location.
