This automatic BBQ skewer rotator converts a conventional charcoal brazier into a cooking setup with powered skewer movement. The steel frame sits above the coals and provides positions for 6 skewers. Its drive maintains continuous rotation, removing the need to change the position of every skewer manually at short intervals. Cooking still remains under the user’s control: the cook manages the heat, checks the food and decides when each batch is ready.

Construction and working dimensions

The 6-skewer version measures 31×43×7 cm, with 6 cm between adjacent skewer positions. This spacing matters when loading the skewers: large pieces on neighbouring skewers should not touch or obstruct free rotation. Reinforcing ribs are incorporated into the frame to support its geometry during installation, carrying and storage.

• Automatic rotation. The drive changes the position of the installed skewers above the coals without constant manual turning.
• Two power options. The mechanism can operate from a power bank or a phone charger, allowing it to be used beside the brazier without a fixed mains socket.
• Removable format. The rotator is placed on a suitable firebox and can be removed independently of the brazier after use.

Checking compatibility with a brazier

Measure the upper outline of the firebox before installation and compare it with the 31×43×7 cm frame. Consider not only the brazier’s length and width but also wall thickness, existing skewer slots, handles and projecting parts. The frame needs stable support points, while the skewer handles require enough unobstructed space. The shape of the individual firebox affects the fit just as much as its principal dimensions.

Perform the first trial fit on a cold brazier without food. Position the frame, place the skewers in their intended locations and check that the drive can rotate them without binding against the frame edges or allowing food on neighbouring rows to collide. Connect the power only after the unit is correctly installed. Operation should begin over prepared coals after open flames can no longer reach the mechanism, cable or other electrical parts. Keep the drive away from moisture.

Use and care

The skewers can hold meat, vegetables or seafood while the cook independently controls the heat and degree of doneness. After cooking, disconnect the power source and allow the structure to cool completely. Remove dry residue with a brush or cloth without pouring water over the drive. The frame and mechanical components should be clean and dry before being placed in the case.
