Double-Sided Adjustable 8-Skewer Rotisserie with Cardan Drive
Description
This automatic rotisserie frame turns a conventional charcoal brazier into a cooking setup capable of rotating eight skewers at the same time. Its cardan mechanism transfers movement between the skewer positions, keeping the food turning over the coals without requiring each skewer to be moved by hand continuously. Regular rotation makes a large batch easier to manage and helps expose the food more evenly to the heat on every side.
Adjustable fit for different braziers
The frame width adjusts from 27 to 47 cm, allowing it to fit braziers of different widths within that stated range. The complete structure is 52 cm long and 7 cm high. Before choosing this model, measure the outside width of the firebox and make sure its edges provide enough room for both sides of the frame to rest securely.
The double-sided layout means that the motor can be installed on either side. This provides more freedom to position the drive according to the shape of the brazier, the arrangement of the coals and the available space around the cooking area. Long adjustment slots and locking connections allow the moving sections to be set to the required width and secured before cooking.
Key specifications and intended use
- Capacity: eight skewer positions for cooking a batch of meat or vegetables together.
- Adjustable width: 27 to 47 cm for use on a suitably sized firebox.
- Overall dimensions: 52 cm long and 7 cm high.
- Material: steel construction with a stated thickness of 2 mm.
- Cardan drive: designed to provide smooth, continuous rotation of the installed skewers.
- Double-sided configuration: the motor can be positioned on the right or left.
The drive is intended to run from a portable Power Bank. The precise connector and electrical requirements should be checked against the motor being used before operation. Skewers must also be selected by their length, shaft width and the shape of the section that engages with the slots and drive positions. The eight-skewer capacity does not remove the need to confirm that the chosen skewers seat correctly.
Setting up over charcoal
First adjust the frame to the width of the brazier and tighten the fasteners securely, then place it on stable edges of the firebox. The unit should be installed after the firewood has burned down and a working bed of coals has formed. Keep the motor, cable and other electronic components away from open flames and the hottest parts of the brazier. Automatic rotation simplifies browning control, but the heat level and the condition of the food still require supervision.
Once the structure has cooled, clean the steel surface with a dry cloth or sponge. Do not leave the frame wet or store it outdoors, because prolonged exposure to moisture can cause corrosion. For transport, the adjustment joints can be loosened and the frame narrowed; before the next cooking session, check that every movable section is locked firmly again.
This version is a practical choice for anyone who already owns a suitably sized brazier and wants to rotate up to eight skewers automatically. The essential selection points are a firebox width within the 27–47 cm adjustment range, skewer shapes that fit the holders, enough space to position the motor safely and a portable power source that meets the drive requirements.
