Description

This open campfire pan stands above the fire on its own legs, so it can be used without a suspended cooking tripod. Its round 40 cm surface provides room to arrange food in a single layer, reach it easily with a spatula, and remove individual pieces as they become ready. The shallow, uncovered layout keeps the complete cooking area accessible when preparing several portions of meat, fish, potatoes, or vegetables.

Construction

The cooking section is made of 3 mm stainless steel. A 3 cm rim surrounds the surface, helping to contain oil, cooking juices, and small pieces without obstructing a spatula. Two T-shaped metal handles are positioned on opposite sides. Three removable legs, each 24 cm long, support the pan above the fire.

  • Material: stainless steel.
  • Diameter: 40 cm.
  • Cooking-section thickness: 3 mm.
  • Rim height: 3 cm.
  • Leg length: 24 cm.
  • Supports: three removable legs.

The detachable supports allow the fully cooled pan to be packed into a less bulky form for transport or storage. Before a fire is lit, the legs need to be secured firmly and the assembled pan placed on level, non-combustible ground. A lid is a separate accessory and is not included with this configuration.

Cooking on the open surface

Access from several sides makes it easier to manage the full area of the pan. Small pieces can be turned individually, food can be moved between hotter and cooler sections, and finished portions can be removed to clear room for the next batch. The low rim suits frying tasks where an unobstructed view and quick access to every ingredient are useful. This format works naturally for outdoor meals at a picnic site, in a garden, at a country house, or beside a properly prepared fire area.

Positioning and handling

All three supports must rest securely on firm ground before food is added. The stainless steel disc, rim, and handles become hot during cooking, so heat-resistant gloves and a spatula or tongs with a sufficiently long handle are appropriate. The pan should not be moved while it is hot or holding food, and it should remain away from places where someone could touch it accidentally. Open flames belong only in locations suitable for campfire cooking.

Cleaning and storage

After cooking, the pan should be allowed to cool completely and naturally. Food residue and grease can then be removed from the cooking surface, with attention given to the rim, handles, and leg fittings before the metal is wiped dry. A hot disc should not be cooled suddenly with cold water. Once clean and dry, the disassembled pan can be stored where its open cooking surface remains protected from dirt until the next outdoor meal.
