This 50 cm pan is made for cooking above a campfire during picnics, fishing trips, garden gatherings and days in the countryside. Its broad round surface gives you room to arrange potatoes, onions, meat, vegetables, fish or seafood at the same time. Ingredients that need longer can go on first, while more delicate foods are added closer to the end. Two stages of cooking

The opening in the centre is the feature that sets this model apart from a conventional solid pan. Once the lid is fitted, the channel carries hot air into the enclosed space above the food. The dish receives heat from the steel cooking surface below and a hot flow from above. Cooking can therefore begin uncovered: ingredients can be fried, browned and stirred while their progress remains easy to judge. The lid is then added to continue the process in the enclosed space. Food is arranged around the opening so that the channel remains clear.

The removable legs raise the cooking surface above the heat source, while the handles help with positioning before cooking starts. A level area provides a stable setup, and keeping the pan horizontal helps oil and released juices spread across the surface instead of running to one edge. The raised rim contains pieces of food and liquid as the ingredients are stirred. Before cooking, the steel surface is coated with vegetable oil or another suitable cooking fat; food should not be fried on hot, dry metal.

After the fire

Let the pan cool completely before cleaning it. Food residue can be removed with a soft sponge, cloth or paper towel. Stiff metal brushes and aggressive cleaning compounds should be avoided because they may scratch the cooking surface. Dry the steel thoroughly after cleaning and keep the cookware in a dry place. The legs and handles detach, making the pan easier to arrange in a car boot and more compact to store between trips.
