Handling and care

The weight of the pan should be considered when moving it with food inside. After cooking, the cast-iron body should be allowed to cool gradually, as sudden contact between hot metal and cold water is best avoided.

The body should be dried completely after washing, and the dry interior may be wiped with a very thin film of vegetable oil. The hot lid should not be cooled under cold water and needs protection from impacts.
