Aluminium Kazan Pot Premium, 24 L, with Lid
Description
A generous pot for cooking over a live fire
This 24-litre kazan is sized for shared outdoor meals rather than a small household serving. It gives you room to prepare pilaf, hearty soups, broths, meat and vegetable stews, or other dishes that need space for a substantial batch and comfortable stirring. It suits a family picnic, a gathering with friends, a fishing trip, or a camp kitchen where preparing one large pot is more practical than managing several smaller vessels.
The body is made of aluminium and the complete pot weighs 5 kg. That combination keeps a large cooking capacity in a form that is manageable when empty and easier to position at the cooking area than a much heavier vessel of similar volume. A metal bail handle allows the kazan to be suspended above a fire and provides a useful grip when carrying the empty pot. Always use substantial heat-resistant gloves around the heated body, bail, lid, and top knob.
Dimensions and construction details
The body measures 400 mm in diameter and 245 mm in height. Check both measurements before choosing a stove, tripod, ring, or separate pot stand. The support must match the seating diameter, remain stable on the ground, and be rated for the combined load of the kazan, ingredients, and cooking liquid. It should also leave enough access around the rim for controlled stirring without forcing the cook too close to the fire.
- Capacity: 24 L, intended for a sizeable batch.
- Body material: aluminium.
- Diameter: 400 mm.
- Height: 245 mm.
- Wall thickness: 3.5 mm.
- Base thickness: 4.5 mm.
- Weight: 5 kg.
The 4.5 mm base is thicker than the 3.5 mm walls, placing additional metal in the part exposed most directly to heat from below. The fitted lid covers the food while it cooks, helps contain splashes during a gentle simmer, and keeps stray ash away from the contents. Its central knob makes the lid straightforward to lift, but the knob can become hot in use and should be handled with suitable protection.
Setting up an outdoor cooking station
Place the kazan on a stable, correctly sized support before lighting the fire. Arrange the fuel so the heat can be adjusted rather than allowing strong flames to surround an empty vessel. Aluminium responds readily when the fire becomes stronger or weaker, so once the contents reach a boil, reduce the intensity when the recipe calls for simmering and stir regularly along the bottom. Do not leave the empty kazan over powerful heat, and avoid moving it after it has been filled with hot food.
Before first use, wash the body and lid with a soft sponge and ordinary dishwashing liquid, rinse thoroughly, and dry. After cooking, allow the metal to cool naturally; pouring cold water into a very hot pot creates an abrupt temperature change that should be avoided. Use non-scratching utensils for routine cleaning. If food has dried onto the surface, soak it in warm water before wiping instead of scraping forcefully. Dry the lid and body after washing, then store them in a clean, ventilated place.
This model is a practical choice when the priority is one spacious vessel for an outdoor meal. Its confirmed capacity and measurements make it possible to select the cooking support in advance, while the lid and suspension bail suit the familiar workflow of fire-side cooking—from loading the ingredients and managing the simmer to serving a hot dish for the whole group.
