Description

Company-size grilling without a permanent firebox

This collapsible brazier is designed for ten skewers and suits picnics, fishing trips, camping, and outdoor cooking beside a country house. Its working length accommodates all ten skewers at once, reducing the need to split a typical group serving into numerous small batches. The rectangular firebox provides a clearly defined bed for the coals, while the notches along the long sides help keep the skewers parallel and spaced apart.

The body is made from 3 mm steel and is intended for repeated cooking over charcoal or firewood that has burned down to coals. A heat-resistant painted finish covers the metal. The listed colour options are black and graphite, the latter being a dark grey shade. This restrained surface works naturally with the decorative shaped cut-outs in the walls and gives the assembled brazier a clean, cohesive appearance.

Dimensions and construction

  • Skewer capacity: 10.
  • Body material: 3 mm steel.
  • Overall dimensions: 60 × 30 × 44 cm.
  • Firebox depth: 17 cm.
  • Construction: collapsible rectangular body.
  • Finish: heat-resistant paint in black or graphite.

The walls, bottom, and supports connect without permanent fasteners or tools. The separate pieces form a rigid rectangular firebox before cooking and return to flatter components once the unit is completely cool. This format is easier to arrange in a car boot or a storage area than a welded brazier of a similar working length. Openings near the lower part of the walls admit air to the coal area, while the tall sides keep the fuel contained within the firebox.

Preparing the brazier for cooking

Assemble and place the unit outdoors on a level, stable, non-combustible surface. Before lighting the fuel, check that the wall sections are seated in their intended joints, the bottom is not tilted, and the legs cannot sink into soft ground. Spread the prepared coals in an even layer along the firebox. This gives all ten skewer positions a comparable heat zone and makes it easier to move individual skewers when one section is hotter than another.

The basic construction does not provide height adjustment for the bottom, so heat is managed by changing the amount and distribution of the coals and by turning the food at suitable intervals. Skewers, cooking grates, a lid, poker, cauldron support, and other accessories are separate equipment choices rather than confirmed parts of the standard brazier. For traditional skewered food, select skewers long enough to rest securely across both long walls.

Care between outdoor meals

Allow the steel to cool naturally before taking the structure apart. Remove the ash and use a dry brush for residue, taking care not to scrape the painted surface unnecessarily. Store the steel components in dry conditions and avoid prolonged exposure to moisture. Before the next outing, inspect the connecting slots, bottom, and supports, then assemble the body and check its stability. This simple routine keeps the individual sections ready to fit together and preserves the main benefit of the design: a full ten-skewer cooking area that can be separated into more manageable pieces after use.
