Description

An open brazier with six skewer positions

This take-apart brazier is designed to hold up to six skewers at the same time. Slots along the upper edges keep them arranged at regular intervals while leaving each skewer accessible for manual turning. The open rectangular firebox is intended for cooking over charcoal or firewood that has burned down to a stable bed of embers. This traditional format provides direct control of the heat and allows the position of every skewer to be adjusted separately while cooking.

The body is made from 3 mm stainless steel. Its take-apart structure comprises five main pieces: two long walls, two end supports, and a separate bottom plate. The larger components remain flat after dismantling, making the brazier easier to place in a vehicle and store between uses. Formed sections along the lower edges of the long walls act as stiffening ribs for the assembled firebox.

Dimensions and construction

  • Working firebox size: 38 cm long, 30 cm wide, and 17 cm deep.
  • Overall base size: approximately 39 × 31 cm; the upper rim stands 44 cm above the supporting surface.
  • Capacity: up to 6 skewers placed in the prepared upper slots.
  • Bottom position: its height can be selected during assembly to set the distance between the fuel and the skewers before lighting.
  • Format: an open rectangular brazier without a lid, built-in thermometer, or rotisserie.

Assembly and preparation

Connect the long walls to the two end supports through the prepared slots, then install the bottom plate at the selected height. Every part should engage fully without twisting or excessive movement. Before lighting the fuel, place the brazier on a level, stable, non-combustible surface. Check that both supports stand securely and that the bottom is held evenly. Keep the unit away from dry grass, low branches, and objects that may be affected by heat.

Spread charcoal across the bottom so that the heat is distributed beneath all six positions. When using firewood, begin cooking only after it has formed stable embers and the open flames have subsided. Arrange the skewers evenly rather than loading one side of the firebox. Select the bottom height in advance: heated parts must not be repositioned, and the assembled brazier must not be carried or dismantled while in use.

Cleaning and storage

After cooking, wait until the embers are completely extinguished and every component has cooled naturally. Remove the ash, brush the inner surfaces dry, and clear away food residue without harsh abrasives. Do not pour water onto hot metal, because abrupt cooling places unnecessary thermal stress on it. If damp cleaning is used after cooling, wipe each component completely dry before dismantling the brazier.

For longer storage, take the unit apart and make sure no ash, residue, or moisture remains between the walls and bottom plate. Keep the flat components in a dry location. The five-piece construction provides a full firebox for six skewers while allowing the cooking area to be cleared after use.
