Description

The Step charcoal brazier is designed to hold eight standard skewers at once and provides an organised outdoor cooking station for a garden, country house or picnic site. Its welded firebox is complemented by two side tables, a lower shelf and a lid. Ingredients, utensils and extra fuel can therefore remain close at hand without crowding the area directly around the coals.

A practical layout for charcoal cooking

The firebox is made from 3 mm metal and uses a welded construction. Its internal dimensions are 560 × 350 × 180 mm, with room for eight standard skewers. The 180 mm depth leaves working space between the fuel and the food, while the rectangular shape makes it possible to spread the coals across the cooking area or concentrate them in one section when different heat zones are needed.

The assembled brazier stands 730 mm high. Its frame can be dismantled, while the side tables, lower shelf and handles are removable. This arrangement makes the unit easier to prepare for storage or transport: projecting parts can be detached while the welded firebox remains in one piece. Before lighting the charcoal, assemble every connection correctly and place the brazier level on a firm, non-combustible surface.

Stainless steel lid and temperature awareness

The stainless steel lid includes temperature-regulating openings and carries a thermometer. Closing the lid creates a more enclosed cooking space above the coals, reduces direct exposure to gusts of wind and allows heat to surround the food rather than reaching it only from below. The thermometer provides a convenient temperature reading without requiring the lid to be lifted for every check.

Together, the lid, ventilation openings and thermometer offer more process control than an uncovered firebox. The reading makes it easier to observe what happens after more charcoal is added, the lid is opened or the airflow changes. This is useful when choosing conditions for meat, fish or vegetables, although the actual cooking time will still depend on the amount and condition of the charcoal, the size of the food and the weather.

An organised area around the firebox

  • Two removable side tables provide separate surfaces for tongs, cookware, seasonings and prepared ingredients.
  • The removable lower shelf keeps firewood or charcoal close to the brazier without taking up the side work surfaces.
  • Removable handles help prepare the fully cooled unit for repositioning, dismantling and storage.
  • Heat-resistant paint is used on the coated components positioned around the heated firebox.
  • Eight skewer positions allow several servings to cook together and make use of the firebox length.

Using and caring for the brazier

Fully assemble the frame and check that the unit stands without rocking before the first lighting. The side tables are intended to organise the cooking process, but their metal surfaces may become warm and should be used with that in mind. Do not reposition the brazier, remove its handles or dismantle the frame until the fuel has been removed and every part has cooled completely.

After cooking, remove cold ash and food residue, clean the firebox, tables and lid, and allow all components to dry. A dry place protected from rain is appropriate for longer storage. This model is a strong match for a buyer who wants an eight-skewer cooking capacity, usable preparation surfaces, nearby fuel storage and a thermometer for monitoring the conditions beneath the lid.
