Painted Folding Suitcase Brazier with 2 mm Walls for 12 Skewers
Description
This folding suitcase-style brazier is designed for cooking food on skewers over charcoal. The steel firebox folds for transport and storage, then stands on separate legs when prepared for use. Its painted black exterior gives the portable structure a neat, restrained appearance. The format is useful when the completely cooled brazier needs to be dismantled and put away instead of occupying a permanent outdoor cooking area.
Firebox construction
The rectangular steel body has 2 mm walls and working positions for 12 skewers. Cuts along the upper edges separate the skewers and hold them in the selected position. Two placement levels are provided, allowing the distance between the food and the charcoal to be changed according to the heat intensity and cooking stage. Every skewer remains accessible for turning, so individual portions can be monitored without moving the rest.
Ventilation openings in the side walls admit air to the fuel. A reinforcing rib is formed on the side of the firebox, while the legs are 35 cm long. The supports raise the cooking section above its base, but their position should be checked before lighting: the assembled brazier must stand evenly without rocking or leaning.
Preparing and using the brazier
- Assemble the body fully and fit every leg before adding fuel.
- Choose a level, non-combustible surface away from dry vegetation and objects that may catch fire.
- Firewood or charcoal may be used as fuel; place food over the firebox after a stable charcoal bed has formed.
- Spread the fuel along the firebox and place the skewers in the cuts at the appropriate level.
- Do not carry the structure with burning fuel inside or fold it before it has cooled completely.
Equipment and care
The design has no integrated lid, rotisserie spit, or thermometer. The capacity of 12 positions describes the layout of the cooking area, so skewers and other utensils should be selected with their length, handle shape, and the actual firebox dimensions in mind. If a cooking grate is to be used, check separately that it rests securely on the body and does not obstruct the ventilation openings.
After cooking, allow the metal to cool naturally. Sudden cooling with water is undesirable for the heated walls and painted surface. Remove ash, charcoal dust, and food residue only when the firebox is cold, paying particular attention to its openings and folding joints. Avoid scraping the painted layer with sharp tools. If the metal becomes wet, dry every part before folding the brazier. Store the dismantled and cleaned unit in a dry place.
