Flat AISI 430 Stainless Steel Skewer, 550×11×2 mm
Description
A flat profile for easier turning
This skewer is intended for cooking meat, fish, vegetables, mushrooms, and other foods over charcoal. Its 11 mm wide flat strip helps prevent threaded pieces from spinning as freely as they can on a thin round rod. This makes the position of the food easier to control when another side needs to face the heat. The pointed end assists with threading, while the 40 cm straight section provides room to distribute ingredients without extending them onto the twisted transition near the handle.
The skewer is made from food-grade AISI 430 stainless steel. The 2 mm thick strip runs from the point to a twisted section, followed by a bent all-metal handle. The twist separates the usable food section from the gripping area and provides a visual reference for the position of the flat strip during turning. There is no wooden grip, so the metal surface can be cleaned in the same manner along its entire length.

- Design: flat strip, pointed end, twisted transition, and bent metal handle.
Matching the skewer to a brazier
Selection should account for both the 55 cm overall length and the 40 cm working section. The working section needs to span the main charcoal area, while the skewer must rest securely on opposite sides of the firebox. Compare the overall length with the distance between the outer support points and the working length with the internal width of the brazier. The handle should remain beyond the main heated area so that the skewer can be gripped and turned.
If the brazier has skewer slots, check their width, depth, and position. The 11×2 mm strip should fit the support points without a pronounced tilt and should not slip out while being turned. On a brazier without slots, the flat sections need stable contact with the upper edges. These measurements are particularly useful when replacing existing skewers or choosing accessories for a firebox with a non-standard width.
Using and caring for the skewer
Pieces of a similar size can be spaced evenly along the working strip, leaving small gaps between them. Threading food through its central area helps the flat profile engage each piece and reduces free rotation. To expose another side to the heat, turn the complete skewer by its metal handle. Allow the item to cool fully before cleaning it.
Remove fresh food residue with a soft sponge, then wash the skewer in warm water with a mild cleaning product. Dried marinade can be soaked first. Metal brushes and abrasive compounds are unnecessary for routine care and may scratch the surface. Wipe the metal dry after washing and keep the skewer in a dry storage area.
